LET'S ACT TOWARDS A BETTER FUTURE
children and youth are out-of-school
LAWLA is a social impact project using mobile technology, cognitive science and artificial intelligence to provide marginalized youth and refugees the means to access educational resources anytime and anywhere.
IN BOOK POOR, BUT MOBILE RICH ENVIRONMENTS LAWLA PROVIDES ACCESS TO KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION TO MARGINALIZED YOUTH AND CHILDREN
In North Africa and the Middle-East more than 7 million children are out of school today. Formal education is not inclusive enough and is unable to integrate every child and youth. Despite the efforts of governments, conflicts, and socio-economic contexts are leaving a whole generation without the hope of a better future.
LET'S PUT EDUCATION
IN THE HANDS OF THE FUTURE GENERATION!
MOBILE-LEARNING : A VALIDATED OPPORTUNITY
LAWLA is convinced that mobile learning is the most efficient, cost effectif and most evolutive tool to tackle the lack of access to education ressources in emergencies and crises. In a report published in 2013 UNESCO validates the power of mobile learning in the pursuit of the Millenium Goal "Education for All" Dans un rapport publié en 2013, l’UNESCO considère alors l’éducation mobile et à distance comme présentant d’importantes opportunités pour atteindre l’objectif Millénaire "Education pour tous" car elle permet :
Expand the reach and equity of education
Increase learner responsibility
Provide immediate feedback
Record monitoring and progress
Improve communication and administration
Minimize educational disruption due to conflict
we can MAKE education accessible TOGETHER
LAWLA empowers marginalized youth in emergencies and crises to :
- Hope for a better future and be resilient in their situation
- Act towards a better future
- Participate in their local communities
Our prototype tackles the education crisis in Morocco
aged 9 to 15
children are out-of-school
Morocco provides the best context to test mobile learning solutions for marginalized and rural populations. The country that organized the COP22 in 2016 needs an educated youth that is able to build a sustainable future. This is why we signed a partnership with the Ministery of Education in the El Jadida Province.
What we have accomplished so far
Developed an innovative learning curriculum framework tailored to local contexts and based on a learning by doing approach
Signed partnerships in Morocco and carried studies with children and families to understand their specific needs.
Determined the roadmap for our pilot phase and built SMS exercices and content for reading training
Today we need YOUR help to...
Collect mobile phones and turn them into education portals in the hands of marginalized children and youth
Pay for the development of the platform, reach more marginalized youth and children and create more content
Train mentors and tutors and carry impact studies with academics, educators and NGO’s
This is where YOU can make it HAPPEN !
